If you want to help yourself, do not rely on me. First Rule: Put your life in order, eliminate overloads, regulate your feeding and throw off everything that takes away much energy. Disentangle yourself from problems, work, family, relations and general worries. Sacrifice and give alms. Eat simple and routine food that does not give you an appetite. Second Rule: Reduce your dependence on desires, stability, well-being, hopes and goals. Learn to accept painful situation, not only on superficial but on the deepest, profound levels. What does accepting painful situation imply? It’s to keep on loving God when human happiness is lost. It’s a reflex of aspiration to God at the moment of unbearable spiritual and bodily pain. It’s the rejecting of everything that prevents love: hatred, offence, blame and dejection. It’s to see the will of God in everything which is around. It’s the absolute acceptance of the will of God and its divine positive meaning, which is not always dependent on us. It’s the understanding of the fact that any situation, however unjust and horrible it may be, leads us to God and hence to love. Since God, Creator, is the symbol of the greatest love in the Universe. I would like to stress once more: There is no situation in the whole world and the Universe that can justify the rejection of love. On the divine level we are all forgiven in the past and saved in the future. My advice is useless unless you learn to accept a painful situation and to forgive and promote love. You might read millions of answers and pieces of advice but you would understand nothing. It only seems to us that we understand by head, thought and consciousness. But, in reality, we understand by feeling, first and foremost. If our soul does not accept – our head will never understand. Try to take a first step: While loving God review the principle events of your life over and over again. Concentrate on love.
